Joshua Welz LMFTI, SEP, M.Div.
Therapist, Somatic Practitioner, Educator, Coach and Consultant

Joshua has spent his life and journey reflecting and living within the fields of health and healing. Challenged by a severe and life threatening disease in his younger years, this catalyst served to propel him into the world of nutrition and natural remedies, questioning the parameters of health, Joshua grew to include a thorough understanding of movement and exercise coupled with nutritional awareness. This first step provided the elemental principles of forming a lifelong pattern of healing and growth. Throughout his life and career, Joshua has focused on the development of the mind, from a rigorous study as well as educational methods. Further, the influences of abstract philosophy and theology crafted his mind. These studies and reflections created a springboard to ask what further limits human’s greatest potential and so, he pursued educational learning within the mental health paradigm. Lastly, these models found their final expression through somatic therapies and practices, the bedrock of his craft.

Though formal education provided a grid of knowledge, however, it was Joshua’s internal compass, motivation, and passion that lead him to creatively integrate and expand these learning experiences in relation to his own experiences, discipline, and drive. The collection of his learning and experiences - his heart and mind - is the gathering of a lifetime pursuit of the good, the true, and the beautiful. While pushing beyond perceived limitations to continue to challenge what healing, health and the meaning of pain produces, in order to orient and provide a grounded framework for the people he works with.

Trauma-Informed Therapy as Both Craft and Wisdom

Every decision made is shaped by a clear sense of purpose.

Therapy without a clear destination or understanding of what healing looks like can often lead to confusion or wandering in and out of different modalities while still living within the original hurt that is driving you to seek help. We change that here.

My style, approach, and understanding all converge to connect you back to your life, your body and your experiences, to bring you into solidarity with health, vitality, and well-being.

Centrally, we work to regulate your nervous system, build resilience, nurture understanding and compassion, and engage with the bravery to face challenges and accept the difficulty of life, not as an obstacle to growth, but as a catalyst to self understanding and maturing into the greatest version of yourself. We frame your growth and honor each feeling while we also engage with the world outside of the mind, knowing that we are at our strongest when we synchronize the inner and outer worlds.
